THE FROG PRICK is a SCAD senior capstone film directed by Cass McKinney and Maxine Schultze, set to be complete by summer 2026!
A self-obsessed frog prince goes about town boasting his achievements with rock ‘n roll musical flair, expecting to pick up a chick who can break his curse with true love’s kiss.
This short film is a musical comedy, a first for both its directors and SCAD’s animation program, written in the style of an 80’s rock ballad music video!
We follow our melodramatic protagonist, Prince Bartholomew, as he continuously fails to court the fair ladies of his kingdom with showboating or negging. Will he be able to see the error of his ways and change for the better, or is this frog prince doomed to croak eternally?
We’re combining the sounds of classic rock legends like Eddie Money and Van Halen with the striking concept paintings of Eyvind Earle and Mary Blair to create both a visual and auditory feast of a film!
Our final character designs, boards, and song demo will be ready by the end of the summer, so watch this page and follow @frogprickfilm on Instagram for more updates!
